The Ladd School.com is a multimedia project documenting the history and urban mythology of the former Rhode Island School for the Feebleminded - called the Ladd Center, or Ladd School.

Founded in 1907 and closed in 1994, The Ladd School was a facility for the incarceration of individuals with developmental disabilities.
A school in name only, the Ladd Center functioned largely as a correctional institution for nearly 80 years, until abandoned by Rhode Islanders in the wake of a scandalous federal lawsuit charging gross medical negligence and abuse at the facility.

The Ladd School Project was begun in 2001, and continues to gather and assimilate data for informational purposes, maintaining awareness of The Ladd Centers role in local history, and the history of developmental disabilities.
